She is the Supernumerary Professor of the department of Philosophy, University of Dhaka. She did her Honours and Masters in Philosophy from the University of Dhaka and Ph.D. from Vanaras Hindu University, India. She also attended the post-doctoral fellowship programme as a Commonwealth fellow.
She was a member of gender committee of People’s University and was also actively involved in redressing gender complaint at the National University.

As the executive director, Hasibur Rahman leads the organisation in its endeavor to achieve the mission and vision, planning and implementation of the programmes and projects, mobilizing and utilizing resources and managing the affairs of the organisation. With a deep understanding of Bangladeshi media, he has taken the lead in enhancing capacity of media and journalists with an approach of research, training and practical learning through mentorship programmes. Under his leadership, MRDI has become the leading journalists’ training organisation of the country with a particular focus on investigative journalism. Alongside acting upon his firm commitment to ethical journalism, he also advocates for the Right to Information (RTI). His proactive role in creating demand for and facilitating supply of information has placed MRDI to a leading position in promotion of RTI. Under his leadership, MRDI advocates Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a sustainable source of development funding.
He is the team leader in the project, ‘Improving Qualitative Journalism in Bangladesh-Phase II’ with 30% working time, in the project, ‘Climate, energy and the media’ with 10% working time, in the project, ‘Media strengthening democracy’ with 20% working time, in the project, ‘Promoting Fact Checking to Counter Misinformation in Bangladesh’ with 15% working time and remaining 25% for the organisation.
Md. Badruddoza Babu

Badruddoza Babu is an award-winning producer and investigative journalist who is also the Head of Investigative Journalism Help Desk at the MRDI. With 21 years of experience in journalism, Babu has worked for many media organizations including magazines, daily newspapers and TV. He has received many accolades for his journalistic efforts against corruption and crime. His investigative TV show “Onushondhan” had received praise among the audience for its detailed reporting on all forms of crimes.

Aktarun Naher is experienced working in journalism, Right to Information and CSR projects of MRDI. She is the RTI designated officer of the organisation. She supervises and coordinates the overall program related activities of MRDI and maintain effective communication with the donor/s, NGO affairs bureau and office of deputy commissioner.
She completed her post-graduation in Geography and Environment, Jahangirnagar University. As part of her academic programme, Naher conducted many research works, and one has got published in The Journal of Geography and Environment.
She has a long-diversified career of 14 years at MRDI. With her sense of responsibility and years of experience, from Deputy Manager Programme she has been promoted to Manager, Programme, MRDI from March 2022.

Md. Mominul Islam has been carrying out responsibilities to prepare vouchers, donor and project reports/ requisitions, yearly budgets etc. Also, he competently maintains registers, bank documents, daily banking activities etc. Mominul has expertise in preparing various financial reports and has a special knowledge in accounting software (Tally 9 & Tally ERP 9).
He has been working as Deputy Manager Finance.
He was deputed as finance coordinator in the project ‘Media strengthening democracy’ with 80% of working time and remaining 20% from the organisation.
Considering his performance, from March 2022 Md. Mominul Islam has been promoted to Manager, Accounts, MRDI.

Samsun Nahar joined MRDI as Deputy Manager, Finance. She has expertise in preparing project financial reports/financial statements, along with handling financial transactional sections. In short, she handles the financial section of MRDI tactfully, with an experience in operational systems, organizational processes and policies, accounting methods etc.
She was deputed as finance manager in the project ‘Improving Qualitative Journalism in Bangladesh Phase-II’ with 100% of working time.
Considering her performance, from March 2022 Samsun Nahar has been promoted to Manager, Finance, MRDI.

Md Tarik Hassan Al Mahamud works for MRDI as a Senior Officer IT. Since 2018. He looks after the operations and maintenance of total computer system of MRDI including its central server. He is responsible for installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing and resolving hardware & software problems, keeping MRDI official website updated through uploading latest contents and announcements, developing online training courses, open data sources, resolving technical and application issues over the phone or in person. He provides technical support to the procurement committee in purchasing and hiring computer and related devices.

Sarwat Tarannum Nadia has been working with the MRDI since 2020 as a senior programme officer. Before joining MRDI, she has worked for multiple media houses and has vast experience as a news editor and reporter. She had started her career with The Daily Star and subsequently worked with Jamuna Television, New Age, Independent TV, Deepto Television and DBC.

Syed Samiul Basher Anik

Syed Samiul Basher Anik is a seasoned storyteller and a media communications professional with over 10 years of experience in Bangladesh’s English newspaper industry.
Prior to current position, Syed has been the youngest chief reporter of Dhaka Tribune, a national English daily in Bangladesh. He is skilled at narrating stories, working with others on shared projects, and maintaining positive working relationships with other communities and members of the media.
He also worked for BRAC, planning media campaigns, creating media strategies, and building contacts with media outlets.
Anik is Programme Coordinator, in the project, ‘Climate, energy and the media’ with 82% of working time and remaining 18% from the organisation.

Mohua Alam Snigdha has been working as Programme Officer, MRDI since 2018. She has contributed to many projects, particularly worked for advancing women’s right of access to information. She has also worked for enhancing the use of RTI by media and civil society organizations. She is a core member of MRDI and contributes to administrative functions of the organization.

Modina Jahan Rime

Beginning as a reporter at the daily Prothom Alo in 2014 when Modina Jahan Rime was still an undergrad student. Her interest in qualitative research was what caused her to change path towards a more research and development-oriented career. Rime started working for MRDI as a media monitoring officer in a UNICEF-funded project for media capacity building, after which she was deputed as training and documentation officer for another MJF-funded project on access and right to information. Currently Rime is working as senior media monitoring officer and manages the media monitoring unit for MRDI.
Having completed her undergrad in mass communication and journalism, Rime went on to pursue a Master’s in the same subject at Taylor’s University in Malaysia.
She has developed a specialization in gender and mental health issues. During her engagement in MRDI, Rime has gained significant insight into advocacy, communication strategy, safeguarding, whistle blowing and governance. Rime coordinated an MRDI gender audit and assisted in writing a research paper titled News Literacy in Bangladesh. Rime has also contributed to a global gender study titled, Gender Equality and Media Regulation Study, Bangladesh published by MRDI and Fojo Media Institute of Linnaeus University in Sweden in 2022.
Rime is an Author of fiction novels in Bengali literature. These include the kichhu jonmo nichhok coincident, a 2018 best seller at the prestigious Ekushey Boi Mela in Dhaka.

Md. Shahid Hossain is the Planning and Development Adviser at the MRDI. He did his Honours and Masters in English Literature and Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka. Starting his career as a teacher of English outside Bangladesh, he shifted to development programme and worked for twenty years in the field of family planning and reproductive health as a training and communication specialist. He was involved in the process of formation and growth of MRDI even before joining the organization as an adviser. His overall contribution to the organizational development is particularly focused on project proposal writing, report writing, editing reports and publications and representing MRDI to national and international forums. He is a creative writer and a translator as well. Number of books have been published so far.

Nepal Chandra Sarker

He served as the Information Commissioner from 2014 to 2019 and also was the founding secretary of the Information Commission. One of his achievements includes organising the office of the Commission at the present location and framing the rules and regulation for conducting business of Information Commission. Before joining the Commission, he served the government as a member of Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration Cadre) for more than three decades. He was also associated with MRDI as adviser in the matter related to the implementation of Right to Information Act in Bangladesh.

Beginning as a cub reporter at the erstwhile Bengali fortnightly magazine Shaptahik Dui Hajar in 1997, Tanim Ahmed has worked in various roles of reporter, leader writer and news editor at newspapers like New Age, web portals like bdnews24.com and broadcasters like Independent TV. Tanim has also had a brief stint as head of sales and marketing for bdnews24.com where he was in charge of the portal’s entire commercial operations. He has been an adjunct faculty at the University of Liberal Arts, Bangladesh, teaching business journalism since 2010. Currently he runs his own content generation firm Omnispace. Tanim Ahmed has an MBA from Dhaka University’s Institute of Business Administration.

With almost two decades of journalism experience in both print and broadcast media Sanaul Haq has now concentrated in media and journalism development, along with training and capacity building to improve qualitative journalism in Bangladesh.
As a journalist, he worked with Business & Economy, Secretariate and Foreign Affairs mainly. Starting journalism career in Bhorer Kagoj, he shifted to television media with NTV. Before starting journalism development, he worked as a Chief Reporter in ATN Bangla and led the news team. He planned, assigned, and edit news, and managed reporting team there. He hosted TV programs ATN Business and Finance, Talk show, Lead News, Hello Bangladesh and Newspapers Today in ATN Bangla. Earlier, he worked as a script writer and production team member of TV programs Biz Week and Right Click in NTV. Other than journalism, he worked as a Researcher, Trainer, and Interpreter.
Since joining MRDI, he is working in the project “Improving Qualitative Journalism in Bangladesh” implemented by MRDI and Fojo Media Institute, Sweden. as a Capacity Building Manager with 100% working time.

Nasimul Ahsan

Nasimul Ahsan is a highly skilled and experienced media professional with a background in journalism and media training. With over eight years of experience in the field, Nasimul has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting media literacy and Journalism education in Bangladesh.
Currently, Nasimul is employed by Management and Resources Development Initiative (MRDI) as the Programme Coordinator for the “Promoting Fact Checking to Counter Misinformation in Bangladesh” project, supported by Internews.
Before joining MRDI, he worked an Assistant Trainer at one of the leading Government own Journalism training and research Institute of Bangladesh for nearly nine years, named Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB). He has extensive experience in organizing seminars, workshops, and training sessions for journalists at both the regional and national levels, having worked.
At PIB, Nasimul was responsible for coordinating the organization’s e-learning platforms, which provided online courses to over 4,500 journalists.
Nasimul is also an expert in online education and technology enabled learning environement with a strong focus on research in these areas. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Communication and Journalism from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Experienced in research, teaching, editing, and translation, Md. Hamza Kamal Mostafa joined MRDI, as a Sub-editor of GIJN Bangla in December 2021.
Before joining the position, he has been an Adjunct Faculty at Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) teaching media and communication core courses. Apart from working with several media houses and INGOs, his focus remained on media, politics, and gender. He presented a number of research papers at international conferences in India, Turkey, and Bangladesh.
Being a Gold Awardee at The Duke of Edinburgh`s International Award Program-2015, Mr. Hamza accomplished his second Master’s in Sociology from South Asian University (an inter-governmental collaboration among SAARC nations), New Delhi with Merit Scholarship 2018-2020. He has completed his graduation and post-graduation in Mass Communication and Journalism, from the University of Dhaka.

Jannatun Nahar is a highly experienced and motivated professional with a background in journalism and mass communication. She recently joined MRDI as a Programme Coordinator for the ‘Promoting Fact Checking to Counter Misinformation in Bangladesh’ project. Prior to this, she worked as a sub-editor (English) at the private news agency United News of Bangladesh (UNB) for two years, starting in 2021.
Jannatun holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka, where she honed her skills in writing, editing, and critical thinking. Her experience as a sub-editor, combined with her academic background, has equipped her with a strong understanding of the importance of accurate and credible information in the modern world.
With her commitment to promoting fact-checking and countering misinformation, Jannatun is poised to make a significant impact at MRDI. She is eager to use her skills and knowledge to help shape the future of journalism in Bangladesh and contribute to a more informed and engaged society.
