Manager Programme

Role at MRDI:            Supervisory

Reporting to:             Head of Programmes and Capacity Building

Responsible for:       Senior Programme Officer(s), project staff

Purpose: To ensure that projects and programmes are implemented according to plan and results monitored against set KPIs to meet the strategic objectives. 

Main functions of the post:

  1. Leadership: Guide the project staff and programme team in preparing work plan, implementing and reporting activities according to Programme Plan.
  1. Management:
  • Oversee and ensure timely implementation of project and programme activities.
  • Ensure that all the monthly/quarterly/annual/end of project reports are prepared and delivered on time.
  • Organize monthly coordination meeting with the core and project team and follow up the decisions of the meeting.
  • Provide all necessary support to the Head of Programmes and Capacity Building.
  • Provide necessary support to the MEAL team for continuous tracking of result and assessing impact of programmes.
  1. Technical:
  • Contribute to writing new project proposals.
  • Prepare NGOAB formats (FD6, FD2, FC1) for approval together with the Manager Finance.
  • Share technical knowledge and skills with team members.
  1. Communication: Keep in close contact with media, support the Head of Programmes and Capacity Building in maintaining internal and external communications.
  1. Organizational:
  • Contribute to organizational development activities as guided by the Head of Programmes and Capacity Building.
  • Coordinate the work of the annual report writing team and support the team leader in publishing the report. 
  1. Others: Any other responsibility as and when assigned by the authority including deputation to different project/s

Key Technical knowledge and skills required:

  1. A strong commitment to MRDI’s vision, mission and values.
  2. Updated knowledge on development concepts including programme management and supervision.
  3. In-depth knowledge of the media sector in Bangladesh.
  4. Knowledge of capacity building and training methodologies.
  5. Proficiency in both Bangla and English.
  6. Strong leadership and management skills.
  7. Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  8. Strong proposal writing skills.
