GOAL

Stimulating sustainable practice of business journalism and mainstreaming business coverage in local newspapers, both focused on SME and local economy, at district growth centres.


OBJECTIVES

Capacity building of Jessore and Rangpur based journalists of national newspapers, local dailies and electronic media to make greater and more effective business coverage of SMEs and local economy.

Enhance and institutionalise professional linkage between media and business communities of Jessore and Rangpur.

Capacity building of selected local newspapers to improve quantity and quality of business coverage as well as to facilitate their sustainable development as SME-focused media outlet.

Publication of separate business page by the selected local newspapers.


MAJOR ACTIVITIES 

Since previous MRDI-Katalyst individual interventions in Bogra were extensively interlinked and mutually supportive, it has now been grouped into a single project to be simultaneously implemented in two locations: Jessore and Rangpur.
