Job Position: Programme Officer, Web-Based Knowledge Hub

Duration: 6 months (Possibility of extension based on performance)

Salary: Negotiable

Responsibilities:

  • Collect relevant information from diverse sources, including but not limited to government agencies, national and international regulators, national and international NGOs, research institutions, news media, academia, and private sector.
  • Upload collected data and information to a data portal website, ensuring accurate categorization and organization for easy access.
  • Regularly update and maintain the database to ensure the information remains current and accurate.
  • Develop and manage the knowledge as a centralized resource, offering easy access to journalists and other stakeholders seeking information.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance the scope and quality of the available data.
  • Ensure the reliability and credibility of the information provided on the platform.
  • Provide assistance and support to users, addressing their inquiries and ensuring a user-friendly experience.
  • Develop a bi-weekly newsletter and/or tip-sheets with information on new data added to the portal.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., journalism, information management, or a related area).
  • Strong research and data collection skills, with the ability to synthesize information from various sources.
  • Knowledge and experience on working with digital learning platform
  • Experience of developing and running complex search strategies on a variety of databases and online resources.
  • Journalism experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in web content management systems and database management is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
