GOAL

To prevent HIV/STIs and other risk behavior among migrant workers, their family members and communities in source areas and destination areas in Dhaka.


OBJECTIVES

To strengthen overall project management and governance and build internal organizational capacity of implementing partner organizations Management and Resource Development Initiatives (MRDI) and Bangladesh National Coordinating Council (BNCC).

To conduct Formative assessments on migration and HIV vulnerability in Bangladesh.

To review and develop Behaviour Change Communication material for strengthening the outreach to migrants in source and destination.

To sensitize local CBO’s and gatekeepers (Religious leaders, local leaders, trade union leaders and health care service providers) on issues related to HIV/AIDS, STI’s and drug addiction in participating countries.

To conduct outreach program to raise level of awareness and reduce the spread of STIs,HIV and drug addiction among the communities at source and destination places.

To promote condoms in target area.

To establish/strengthen referral services for providing STI care and for voluntary counselling and testing in source and destination sites.
