Position: MEAL Officer

Note: This position will go through a six-months probationary period before confirmation.

Key responsibilities:

  • To ensure adequate support is provided for planning and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation functions.
  • To ensure project data collection and protection, accountability to beneficiaries, availability and use of appropriate reporting tools, and reporting against the project indicators, as per the agreement with the donor and prescribed format of MRDI.
  • Support adaptation of activity workplans and implementation according to the project design.
  • Perform data quality checks to ensure data integrity and reliability, and track assessments, reviews and evaluations, including through data collection, data entry and data analysis.
  • Regularly analyze M&E data and share with Management, MEAL Focal and project colleagues on issues that need immediate attention.
  • Analyzing and compiling data to measure the progress and impact of projects’ activities, provide feedback to the project colleagues on overall progress towards results and alignment.
  • Conduct regular field visit to strengthen the M&E element of the project and support the MEAL Focal use of findings.
  • Identify lessons learnt and generate success stories from the field reports and observations.
  • Plan, develop and implement beneficiary database, reporting tools & templates and the information management system for the project.
  • Support capacity development sessions for the project staff on an effective MEAL system.
  • Support in developing the monitoring, evaluation & learning plans, and surveys required for the project and MRDI.
  • Ensure a friendly collaborative working culture within the team, actively sharing information and knowledge to enable the team to ensure effective learning and sharing across the organization.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with different stakeholders of the project.
  • Compile and post project data and documentation to MRDI’s organizational MEAL system to show the contribution.
  • Provide inputs to MRDI’s annual report and other organizational knowledge products as required.
  • Support MEAL Focal in other tasks required for the organizational MEAL implementation.

Required qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or other relevant analytical fields. Requirements may be relaxed for candidates with MEAL experience.
  • At least three years of professional experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to design, implement, and analyze MEAL frameworks.
  • Proficient in data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
  • Expertise in preparing precise reports on time.
